Professional Services Firm is a mid-sized consulting company offering business advisory, financial planning, and management consulting services. Their existing website had served them well for over 4 years but had fallen behind modern standards. The design looked dated, the site was painfully slow, and mobile users were having a consistently poor experience that drove them to competitors.
The firm engaged us to completely redesign and rebuild their website on WordPress with a focus on three priorities: modern aesthetic that reflected their premium brand positioning, exceptional performance and speed, and a user experience that would engage visitors and convert them into leads. We chose Elementor Pro as the page builder for its flexibility and performance capabilities.
The transformation was comprehensive. The new website delivered 45% higher engagement metrics, 60% faster page load times, and a 35% reduction in bounce rate. Lead generation from the website increased by 52%, and the client reported significantly higher satisfaction from prospective clients visiting the site.
The Challenge
The old website was built on a custom theme that had accumulated technical debt over years of incremental updates. The codebase was bloated with unused plugins, inline styles, and legacy scripts. Page load times averaged 6.3 seconds on desktop and 9.8 seconds on mobile, far exceeding Google's recommended thresholds. Lighthouse performance scores were in the 20s, and Core Web Vitals showed red across all three metrics: LCP, FID, and CLS.
The content architecture was equally problematic. Navigation was confusing, with 8 top-level menu items and multiple levels of dropdown that made it hard for visitors to find specific information. The site had no clear conversion paths, and calls-to-action were inconsistent in placement and messaging. Internal search data showed visitors frequently searching for services that existed on the site but were buried in the navigation hierarchy.
Mobile experience was particularly poor. The site had no responsive design system, using fixed-width layouts that required constant pinch-and-zoom on smartphones. Forms were nearly unusable on mobile, with fields extending beyond the viewport. Mobile bounce rate was 78%, compared to 52% on desktop, indicating a massive opportunity in mobile optimization.
Strategy & Execution
We started with a discovery phase that included stakeholder interviews, user persona development, competitor analysis, and a comprehensive content audit. This informed a new information architecture that simplified navigation to 5 primary sections, each with a clear conversion goal. The sitemap was completely restructured based on user research and search intent data, ensuring that high-priority services were easily discoverable within 2 clicks.
Design was driven by the firm's premium brand identity. We created a clean, professional aesthetic using a refined color palette, modern typography, and generous whitespace. Custom illustrations and iconography added personality while maintaining professionalism. Every page was designed with a clear visual hierarchy that guided visitors toward desired actions: scheduling consultations, downloading resources, or subscribing to the newsletter.
Performance optimization was integrated into the development process from day one. We built on a lightweight foundation using a minimal theme framework, optimized Elementor Pro configurations, and carefully selected only essential plugins. Images were converted to WebP format, CSS and JavaScript were minified and deferred, and we implemented server-level caching and a CDN. The result was a site that loaded in 2.4 seconds on desktop and 3.1 seconds on mobile, with Lighthouse scores consistently above 90.
